We've released this statement for some reason.....

In response to media enquiries received, Preston North End Football Club can confirm that today, 3rd April 2014, the Club has been contacted by the National Crime Agency in relation to a wide ranging investigation into ‘spot fixing’ in football.

There are no suggestions that any offences that might have occurred involved match fixing.

None of our employees have been charged with any offence at this time and until or unless this position changes we will be taking no further action nor making any further comment.

All of our contracted employees are available for selection by the manager.

....seems like we may have a problem.
Naughty Nobbers. The punishment should be just enough points to make you drop to 7th.
PNE have lost so many playoff matches that it defies the laws of probability prompting an inquiry.
Do we reckon any would be our lot?

Red cards at Yeovil?
Will Watt has confirmed no Blackpool players are involved.
Glad to hear it.
So during this run we were actually trying to win.

LLLLLLLDLLLLLLLLLLDLLLLLLLLLLLL

I was hoping to hear we weren't that crap and just trying to make a bit of money on the side.

Six players from Preston and one from Barnsley were interviewed by police as part of an investigation into alleged bribery and money laundering.

Ban the fuckers for life if they have.
Man, six Nobbers suspended... that'd pretty much guarantee a playoff loss right? :D
And all the shit the Nobbers have given us about dirty tactics :D

Brilliant.

It's a huge thread but it's fair to say they are worried or at least ashamed.

Oh such a shame Nobend.
Will they be available for their 2-1 defeat tomorrow involving 4 yellow cards and a sending off?

If the Pakistan cricketers went to jail the other year for match fixing then its squeaky bum time for these men. Be hard to prove though if they keep schtum.
The lucky thing is, only two of these would be a loss for the rest of the season.

But fuck the football, if these people are guilty of this then throw the book at them, it would seem earning in four weeks what some people don't earn in a year is not enough for these greedy fuckers.

Having said that they haven't been charged yet, so it could just be nothing.
Yeah innocent until proven guilty and all that.

Do you know who are the players are although that could be libellous if there is nothing official.

If they are sent down you could lose £250 worth of "talent" in one foul swoop ;)
I'd have said £210.

Wow that much?

Does this make our defeat at Sheepdale in the Cup null and void now;)

We could still be playing now and still not score in that game.
John Welsh, David Buchanan, Keith Keane, Bailey Wright, Graham Cummins and Ben Davies, together with Barnsley’s Stephen Dawson. Not sure if any of them are big players for PNE?

Meanwhile, Preston fans are outraged and are on the way to the club to show their disapproval.

Welsh, Buchanan, Keane and Wright are first-team regulars and look set to be included in North End’s squad for Saturday’s game against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Read in the paper good old DJ was arrested as well
Just seems wrong to name unless proved guilty.

They need people to come forward with more evidence . That will be why names released. They will be pretty sure of a conviction if they release the names.

But on the other hand .

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Couldn't happen to a nicer club .
Wrong area of the site?
Yeah, already a thread in the general football section Devon. Not really BFC related even if it does make us smile ;)

Merged them together.
They may be corrupt as hell but at least their finances are improving..
