Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer is set to revert to his strongest side for the visit of Bristol Rovers having made eight changes in midweek for the Checkatrade Trophy.

Midfielder Jim McAlister, out since February after breaking his leg, is closing in on a first-team return after making a 30-minute cameo in the defeat to Shrewsbury. Goalkeeper Joe Lumley will hope to keep his place after making his debut having joined on loan from QPR on Monday.

Andy Taylor, Mark Cullen and Kyle Vassell (all hamstring) are still missing.

Rovers begin life without Billy Bodin following the Welsh winger's move to Preston. Bodin's absence is likely to be felt as he remains the club's top scorer this season with 11 goals.

Regular starter Ellis Harrison is expected to return to the attack after being rested for the New Year's Day win against Portsmouth. Daniel Leadbitter (hamstring) remains out, but Rovers should be refreshed after a 12-day fixture break.

Hopefully they can hit the back of the net this week, I’m going 3-1 to the Pool.

We/They need a little bit a breathing space between ourselves and the trap door.

Vassell is close to a return but not ready yet. Bristol Rovers have lost their star player Billy Bodin to the Nobbers although they have just signed someone from Aldershot.

They have sold 809 tickets. Not bad going.

Interesting a clash between the pirates and club stripping privateers.

I don't get that team. How many central midfielders? Daniel will be on the left but who on the right?

That team is going to struggle for goals.

Tilt (suspended) and Solomon-Otabor (ill) will be big losses.

Blackpool dominant in possession but no clear chances yet. Appear to be playing a 3-6-1.

22 - Blackpool looking a bit uncomfortable with their back three. A couple of times now they've been caught out down the channels where there's far too much space for the visitors.

Really don't know why Bowyer has reverted to a back three at home.

Nearly half time and not a single shot on target. How is that possible?

I think the 3-6-1 might be helping.

I'm sure if I was on the pitch I'd have had a shot on goal by now - and I'm a pensioner.

Attendance given as 4,001. 1,120 away fans.

Great turnout from Bristol Rovers. Less than 3,000 home supporters.

If you're a fan, surely you don't have to research. I think it's a case of doing whatever he wants.

Looking at that photo, if there were 1100 away fans then home fans look nearer to 2,000 tops.

There is also a mystery 1,000 fans. I think whatever the gate to get the real figure, you always deduct this amount. Therefore more like less than 2,000 home fans.

No way is there nearly 3x more scabs there than Bristol Rovers fans

Just read this on the Bristol Rovers forum.

Apparently Blackpool fans have a boycott on today, could be a rather small home attendance.

68 - Jay Spearing again finds the first man as he comes over to take a corner. It's obviously a deliberate ploy but it's not working.

I would never have Jay Spearing down as a corner taker.

Ah, the old, We refuse to score from a corner" routine.

Classic Bowyer.

77 - So close for Bristol Rovers. Joe Lumley comes racing out of goal when he really should have stayed at home. Rory Gaffney takes it past him but fires across the face of goal. Clearest opportunity of the game so far.

80 - Joe Lumley makes two key saves in quick succession to deny the visitors from a corner and keep Blackpool on level terms.

We are so shit. Only one team likely to score.

Same old comments. You would think we haven’t got any strikers on the books. All strikers we have need a special training session on Monday doing nothing but studying a picture of what goal posts look like and spending a couple of hours taking shots at the goal with the centre of the goal blocked off. Well you have got to help Bowyer out somehow!!!!
