From the Guardian...

• League took view Oyston did not pass ‘fit and proper person’ test

• Oyston was told in 2010 but never complied with disqualification

It's unbelievable isn't it

Equally unbelievable that the EPL and EFL interpret the almost identical ODT differently

Strengthens the argument for independent regulation

Can't believe this is only coming out now.

It throws up a lot of questions.

What would have happened if we'd stayed up in 2011?

What would have happened if we'd have gone back up in 2012?

Did Oyston intentionally refuse to invest as he knew relegation and our failure to be promoted again were the only ways he could keep hold of the club?

Was that the point they decided to take it all out?

Does the fact that the PL and EFL apply their respective rules differently prove that the Oystons have some influence over the EFL?

There's only one solution.

Force Owen to sell his shares to Val, then reset all leagues to 2011/12 and restart from the beginning of that season.

What about our current / wank squad??

Reinstate all players to their respective teams at that time, at the ages they were then, somehow.

Basically turn back time?!

I wouldn’t mind seeing Lua Lua running at a defence again. To this day I still believe no one ever knew what he was going to do, including himself.

Someone ring Kingston’s missus and get her curse to finish him off so we keep Marty G.

One of a very few games I never went too. I remember watching sky sports news in a boozer in Gateshead thinking, Why couldn’t they *score like that at WestHam the week before!!!

*It was a weird game, if I remember correctly we were by far the better side but got thumped 4-0.

Just another thought on this.

If we could clearly evidence the Oystons' lack of willingness to try to stay in the premier league, in light of how convenient that relegation was for them, could there be a case for match-fixing?

And following on from that, I'm assuming if match-fixing is proven in relation to an owner that would mean they fail the shit and proper test?

It would have to be traceable.

I think it was a former owner of Swindon Town who bet on his side to lose a cup game back in the 1980s? Result was he was later jailed and banned by the FA for three years for this and other offences.

It would also surely mean the players and Ollie were complicit. None of them deserve that - not even Beattie.

Any manager that brings 16st Andy Reid on should definitely be done for match fixing.

That cunt was the size of a 3 tonne skip when he played for us.

Brilliant idea. Perhaps need Stephen Hawking to help turn back the time :scratch_chin:

Turning circle of a aircraft carrier. Still - think of the good times.

We apparently paid a 1 million loan fee for Andy Reid. He was only brought in to replace Charlie Adam who was meant to leave in January's transfer window.

When half pissed I often mistook Bloomfield bear for Andy Reid.
