Announced tomorrow.

I think it will be one of the worst squads that I can ever remember.

Well that's the World Cup in the bag then!

Football is the same as any other English sport, when a team needs a total overhaul the Selectors, Managers, Governing bodies are to afraid to go against the tried and trusted method of doing fuck all.

Let the kids go to World Cup and see what it’s like against the big boys.

I agree but we will still have the delights of Dier and Henderson in midfield.

I agree. Maybe a reflection on how bad we are but at least he has some creativity.

I'm a big fan of Shelvey, as a player, and as a fellow bald man.

Rumours going round that England have convinced Leon Bailey to change allegiance and he could be in the squad. I’m not 100% sure he’s actually really eligible but that’s a massive coup if true

Who would you start out of that lot?

Will Southgate stick with a back three?

-----------------Pickford-------------

--------Walker - Cahill - Stones

Trippier------------------------------Rose

------------------Dier- Alli----------------

----Sterling--------------------Rashford

-------------------Kane----------------------

That's how I reckon Southgate will line them up.

Who is he?

A left winger playing in Germany. Would be a good signing if it happened (if you can call it that internationally?) but I doubt it. Declared for Jamaica I thought?

Hate this three at the back shite. He is going to play it otherwise he has three full backs in the squad.

Midfielders: Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Ha Ha. Is that really the best England can muster?

Shame we sacked off Zaha. He would be in the squad. Real pace.

Welbeck? How the fuck did that happen?

looks very heavy on defenders, are we trying to bore our way out of the group stage?

Still don't understand what Loftus Cheeks offers. Is he a holding midfielder, creative midfielder, still yet to work that one out. I haven't seen much of him to be fair.

I’m just relieved someone has had the balls to change it up a little.

Quarters/Semis are a real possibility if we have luck on our side... Final/Winning it, not a sniff if we’re being honest!

Very optimistic. Not enough creativity and a dubious defensive line means second round at best for me.

Lump on.

England to win it.

In Gareth we trust.

It's how some of the best managers and teams have chosen to play more and more over the last decade. Gives you 5 at the back when not in possession and more players in midfield when on the ball, but having the wing backs maintains that width creating space for players to run into. It's flexible.
RE: England's World Cup Squad

It's flexibly shite. With the poor quality players on show, we shouldn't complicate matters. That system will be torn to shreds against quality opposition. You could see it at times against Spain.

I haven't seen any team play with two right backs on the pitch but then again I don't watch as much football as I used to.

I know there isn't much we can do but ultimately it all boils down to quality. I guess Greece and Portugal contradict this slightly.
