‍Pre Match

- So off we go to yet another hard hard away game.

We both have some of the best defensive records in the league, we've conceded 14, and them just 12.

0-0 Anyone.....?

- Always the one to be full of optimism that we're going to sneak an away win I'll go for Blackpool doing us 4 - 0.

- The weather forecast isn't good for Blackpool or the North West in general with heavy rain and strong winds expected, (and Blackpool is usually quite windy anyway) I don't expect Rovers to score as DC will set up the team to defend and defend and then attack and attack in the last 20 minutes. After the game DC being interviewed will say "Listen, the conditions weren't perfect, but that's not an excuse. (Scratch his right ear) We changed things around in the second half but lacked movement in the final 3rd, and we still don't perform as well as what I see in training. But we go again next week in a tricky cup tie. Yes it will give us a bit of a break

- Blackpool had a tough cup game last night, plus a long journey to the capital and back whilst we've had a week of routine training, why not surprise them and take the game to them for the full 90 mins as surely they'll be a bit jaded? Feeling the usual defensive game from the start is surely playing into their hands?

- Repeat of 1990, 0-3 to the Gas!

Well' I can dream can't I?

- 1-0 defeat. 94th minute own goal by Nichols who, having just cleared off the line from a Blackpool corner, is distracted from the play while playing with his hair and the resulting shot hits him on the arse and goes in

- Both clubs have had amazing journeys since 2006-07, when we were promoted to L1 and they were promoted to the Championship.

We went down to the Conference, they got into the Premier League (who was the manager who did THAT!?), we shot back up twice, they dipped below us down to L2, and here we are back again on level terms.

Our lows were probabaly comparable to their highs in disbelief, and at least we don't have the huge debts they accumulated from that venture into the outer reaches of the football galaxy.

They are no better off for it, apart from some improvements to the stadium, but it must have been great when it was good and terrible as it all fell apart.

If I had to choose between the two journeys, I'd go for theirs.

- Other similarities include not being happy with their owners

Tbf 99% of their fans aren't happy with their owners, I'd doubt its nowhere near that here.

I suspect at every club you will have fans who aren't happy with the owners.

- Expecting a really tough game and a low scoring one at that. I would take a draw now, but think they will edge it 1-0. Hopefully I'm wrong. They have got two players I would love in our side - Ben Heneghan and Jay Spearing. Both class acts.

- Blackpool have only lost one at home , we have only one win on the road. I will have to go 2:1 Home win.

I will happily accept a nil nil, but we have to start taking maximum points from some of our home games or we are down.

- Can’t see anything other than the score line finishing Bristol Rovers nil.

What huge debt?

‍To be fair, most of them seemed clued up. Prefer them to Bristol City.

Years ago I worked with a  mate who was a Bristol Rovers fan. Went to bloomers with him in 90.

‍Post Match

- Anyway to the match and it was very much a case of possibly not as good a performance as Barnsley but a much better result. It could easily have been six as we missed some very good chances especially in the first half but also could easily have found ourselves behind because of not taking the chances created. It is days like yesterday when I realise that perhaps we are not as badly off as we think we are.

- Crowd 7 take away those "fans" who just criticise individuals and seem to want them to fail and sing stupid songs that down the team  and you have a superb bunch who yesterday got what they deserved-a well deserved win. As for the Blackpool support well pathetic comes to mind but I suppose you have to admire the willingness to stick to their principles but is it really doing their team any good?

- Totally deserved. We probably just shaded the first half but second half we have been far superior.

- Today showing what we can do if we actually create and take our chances. Defensively solid. Best in the league now after pumping the former leaders.

-Hmmmmm 3-0 away win at Blackpool! I can’t help but think we’ve been here before???

- 3-0 away at Blackpool is one of my favourite scorelines

- Twenty percent of Blackpool goals conceded were scored by Bristol Rovers. We should not underestimate the ground-breaking nature of this result. Remarkable.

- What a storming 2nd half after a tight 1st half.
Deserved that scoreline in the end, and top marks for nicho today.

- Chances galore! Well played boys, well played!

- Ohhhh Arrr it’s a massacre!

- Brilliant to see so many chances from open play

-  Olly’s interview said much about attitude and togetherness in the squad that has been lacking. Maybe they got some news or maybe just looking at the shitfest that is Blackpool FC made them realise things ain’t that bad at Rovers!!

- Crowd home crowd thin on the ground and barely audible. At last the away fans had something to sing about and we did!
Ref 4 homer
Blackpool 3 oh dear looked as poor as us in the first half and did not raise their game in the second like we did

‍Do some fans not get what the boycott is all about... or am I reading the posts wrong?

‍What particular post are you talking about?

‍the post that starts “Crowd 7”

‍Well that poster contradicts himself

"As for the Blackpool support well pathetic comes to mind but I suppose you have to admire the willingness to stick to their principles but is it really doing their team any good?"

You can't call the home support pathetic and in the same sentence say that you admire their principles. I agree though, the poster isn't obviously clued up as he is using the famous 'support the team' argument.

‍Out of all the leagues, I found the Championship fans most knowledgable.

The lower league fans seem stuck in their own mindset, “you can’t tell me, I’m right and you’re wrong”  sort of thing.
