Just here to report the facts.

They played on worse than that when Oyston owned it
Last time a saw it , it looked like it was in good condition.
less cost to pull the turf than keep it green?
How quickly can you get it playable again in case the EFL announce the football is back in a few weeks.

I don’t understand why it needed to be lifted?

Surly it’s in tip top condition with no usage & all the sunshine recently?

It did go down before Simon saddler bought the club. Something must be happening to make it better.
I hope your right? It does seem odd though.

Seems odd we’ve had 5 weeks with no game and the work appears to only just be getting done now at a time when only essential travel etc should take place, bit irresponsible in a way but on the other hand at least something is being done. Could of had a brand new pitch however in the time wasted which I believe Tranmere have done at a cost of circa £500k

About time that awful AstroTurf was ripped out as well, over the winter there was more grass on that at times than on certain areas of the pitch.

Perhaps they are looking for those pesky nematodes 😊

Photo was taken near my old seat in the north west stand :-(

I don’t follow???

I’ll try again tomorrow, I’ve had a bottle of wine & a glass of Karen’s Red.

Love you all. 🤣🤣

The grass is back already.

Wonder how many clubs relaid their pitch during this time.

There’s a few clubs posted pitch work in progress. They must be expecting the season to run late and not have enough time to do work before the next season starts.
So the astro is still there.

That wouldn’t take long to change. And as it was put down under the stains, it’s probably what greengrocers use in shop window displays.

I still don’t understand why it needed re-turfing?

Why do clubs do this every year?

It’s probably cheaper and quicker to rip it up than aerate, reseed and do any other shit a old one needs doing.
Best time of year for grass to grow? Not got a clue!
Probably got something to do with it not being used for football for a few weeks
I suspect this is the first time it's been done correctly for years.
