I cancelled my Sky TV this morning (well, gave them the 31 day notice to quit). I had been trying for over a week to get through and cancel - even resorted to joining facebook (which I hate with a passion) in an attempt to get through.

When I eventually managed to contact them via messaging, it only took 2 hours on my laptop!!

An hour and half of offering me different deals and reductions - even though I stated from the outset that I was not interested in any other offers to continue with them.  Why can't  companies just do what they are asked to do straight away - in this case, just cancel my TV when it expires next month?

It's definitely one to tell the grandkids.
If only you’d known I work there.

Hence the slowness 😂

I reckon because the majority of people have no intentions of cancelling when they ring up - they just want a better deal.

Binned it just over a year ago gone down the IPTV route. Must be near £1000 better off already. Not missed Sky and not missed a match I wanted to watch.
I’m going to try Virgin next time. £25 quid a month cheaper with BT sport chucked in and faster interne

Deal for new customers is £60 a month for full TV package and 100mb broadband.
Virgin isn’t available in FY8 so never given it a second thought.
O2 and Virgin potential merger. Obviously an attempt to compete with Sky.

Just cancelled Sky. Took 5 mins.

Should have cancelled mine as well then 😂

Side note : I've found twitter is the best place to deal with massive companies if you need action.

Talk shit, @them and you get a private message from their customer service within minutes. I've done it with Cable, Car hire and Insurance companies with results.

I used to do that all the time before I was banned for talking shit @ massive companies on Twitter.

I’ve never understood this?

Sky shows on my Virgin TV package.

I thought they fell out about 5 years ago but I never noticed on my TV?

Chris Evans is on Virgin Radio but he always talks about the partners from sky so I don’t get if they are in collaboration or not?

I certainly don’t understand the competition if they are partners?

Passive aggressive diplomacy is my specialist subject.

Ah, it's the passive bit I struggled with I think.
