Blackpool are in home action against Charlton on Saturday. Charlton currently occupy 6th position so if Blackpool harbour any play-off ambitions then they need to at least avoid defeat.

It's fair to say Blackpool are having a little blip at present. A heavy defeat to Bristol Rovers at home, a comfortable defeat to Donny and a draw in the FA Cup away at Solihull. Sandwiched in between was a good win at Southend but I am not certainy not confident here especially considering Charlton has four on the bounce. 1-2.
Terry McPhillips has revealed his Blackpool side are almost back to full strength ahead of this weekend's crucial League One clash against Charlton Athletic.
The Pool boss said: “We’ve had a full week so we had 20 outfield players training, so it was a good chance to do a 11v11 and get some work done.
“It hasn’t happened often for us (having a week off) and the weather has been kind so far. So we’re looking healthy.
“Callum and Turts have trained and they look good, Cully is there or thereabouts as well.”
The Seasiders, who have kept 10 clean sheets in the league this season, will be aiming to end a run of two matches without finding the net, having failed to make dominant periods count.
“We had the chances before Doncaster to score, so that was disappointing, then the Solihull goalkeeper has done really well. The games are really tight, there’s not a lot in it and that first goal is massive in most games,” the manager said.
“Hopefully we can get back to scoring that first goal and back to winning ways on Saturday.”
The visit of The Addicks pits two sides currently pushing for the play-offs, with Lee Bowyer’s side occupying that sixth spot after 19 matches.
“They’re a good side and they’re on a good run as well. They made a lot of changes for their last game in the cup and we’re expecting a really tough game.
“But we’re at home and we want to win. I thought in the second-half against Burton we took it to another level, but it would be nice to start a game like that and get the three points.”
From a squad point of view, Blackpool also hope to welcome back a few players from injury.
“We had 20 outfield players training on Thursday, giving us a good chance to do some 11 vs 11. We’ve had a good week on that front,” McPhillips confirmed.
Blackpool hope to welcome Ollie Turton and Callum Guy back for the game, though Mark Cullen, Jimmy Ryan and Max Clayton remain sidelined.
Charlton rested nine players for their Emirates FA Cup defeat last weekend, though ex-Pool forward Billy Clarke stepped up his return from injury in that fixture.
Another football club where the fans are in limbo, with the owner supposedly agreeing a deal with a consortium back in January/February time but still not sold.
Have some fond memories of us playing Charlton years ago, at their place with massive crowds in what was then quite a unique ground and not least when we battered them 8-4 at Bloomfield road in the Matthew's days, when I got drenched and left at 8-1 only to find out later that evening that the Addicks had scored three late goals.
Their long standing and excellent keeper Sam Bartram did not play and they had this big South African guy standing in, must have been a very long weekend for him.
I can recall on one occasion down at the Valley looking at the programme when changes were announced (programmes went to print days before the actual game) and Matthew's was not playing due to injury received in training and the moans and groans, no not from Blackpool fans but from the thousands of Charlton supporters because they would not see him, sounds odd really when you think that he would be their biggest threat yet his presence was so much appreciated.
Blackpool fans along with many other clubs fans did not travel away in vast numbers, the road network and car ownership was not like today and for many in manual jobs and in offices also Saturday morning working was the norm it was part of the working week.

Wasn't that pretty slow. At the time it was the only thing available so speed wasn't a concern!

Wow that ground is packed......
Charlton haven't brought many which is understandable. No more than 1,500 there.
We are going to get dicked today. 5 at the back at home is shit. Why change something that has worked all season.
