Blackpool v Peterborough United

League One
Sat 2nd Nov 2019 - KO 15:00
Bloomfield Road

Blackpool host the division's top scorers Peterborough United in a fascinating encounter at Bloomfield Road this Saturday.

The Seasiders, who picked up a point and clean sheet away to Burton Albion last time out, will be aiming to nullify a Posh side that has found the net 36 times in Sky Bet League One.

Victory for the Pool would start the new month off perfectly and push the team back towards the play-off spots.

Team News

Curtis Tilt misses out for Blackpool due to suspension, which could provide an opportunity for Ryan Edwards to partner Ben Heneghan at centre-back. One or two other players face late fitness checks.

Peterborough look set to be at full strength, with young midfielder Kyle Barker the only doubt for the visitors.

The Manager's View

The Referee

James Oldham will officiate the clash at Bloomfield Road. He was promoted to EFL duties this season and has overseen eight matches in the current campaign. This will be the first time that he has refereed a Blackpool fixture, though.

All match discussion and predictions here...

Tough game against an in-form side. We're at the point now, nearly a third of the way into the season, where you ought to have figured out your strongest side and formation - even if a number of changes were made over summer. We just aren't there yet and Peterborough are well and truly kicking on.

Pessimistic first reply, but think 0-2. Would love to be proved wrong!

8-0 the mighty.

The last match I attended was against Peterborough. 90 minutes of hoofing the ball to Tom Ince who failed to get a shot on target. 0-0.

Still a good day because I met a few of the lads from here.

I'll be optimistic, 1-1

Bad feeling about this. They are flying.

0-3

0-2 I'm ready to be proved wrong.

If we play 4-4-2 then 1-2

1-0 Blackpool.

We tend to surprise good teams on the off chance maybe this will be the case on Saturday hope so UTMP
Without Tilt but that could be a blessing in disguise. Heneghan and Edwards to start you would presume.

Underdogs, up against it, proper club, proper owner, Saturday afternoon, pie and a pint, Bloomfield Club prematch, wander down at half 2 with the tangerine sea, tight, torrid affair and a last minute back post header from Gnanders to save a point, cold as fuck, big coat on, scarf, hat, the lot, sea sea seasiders, come on you pool, seaside barmy army, radio lancs in the car on time way back, kid asleep in the back, new generation. Let's have it.

Just goes to show how far we have fallen that we now see Peterborough as a tough game.

It’s so depressing, we should be smashing clubs like this 2 or 3 nil. In fact, we shouldn’t even be playing them in a league match.

I think it's more their form than their club! Look at their goal difference!

I suspect Gnanduillet will come back in for Delfouneso and Edwards for Tilt. Think it will be 4-5-1 again.

Why? We were shite for years before we got lucky. League One is our level.

I’m in the south today. U .

Hopefully see some of you lot.

No it’s not, you dick. It’s Oystons level.

As a club we are probably bottom half championship and if you take away the Oyston period then we are probably bottom half prem.

Don’t talk shit or as I like to say, don’t talk Yorkshire!

You deluded arsehole. Before Oyston where were we? League 1 level all day long.
League One as it stands today but potentially a Championship club. Far more potential than most in League One.

We have amazing potential

Pitch is still looking decent.

What a load of shit. Looks like back to a 5-3-2 with Husband of all people at centre back. Thompson injured.

Easy for the Posh with their prolific marksmen
I like Husband, certainly one of the more committed players. Given how rash he can be or how unsure I am of him playing as centre back previously, it is a concern. The bigger issue is the middle 3, it hardly looks like a trio that will dominate and set the tone in our favour. Time for some of our players to step up today or it could be a long 90mins.

Bollocks. It really was only going to go one way today.

Same old shit. 0-1
Start well, concede from their first attack. We really are poor at the moment.
Get in. 1-1
Own goal but they all count
