F.A.Q

Q: When was Back Henry Street created?

A: Back Henry Street was created in February 2012 by two local Blackpool fans. At the time BFC had no dedicated forum for Blackpool fans and we are proud of the fact that this still remains the case today. Back Henry Street was originally built on the MyBB platform and in July 2018, a new forum was built from scratch using the latest web technology.

Q: Why have you created a new forum?

A: As mentioned above, Back Henry Street was using the MyBB platform and due to the technology, we were quite restricted as to what we could do with it. A new forum was always on the agenda but the well publicised legal battle with the Oyston family delayed developments significantly. After a positive verdict in court, Steed (Admin) regained focus and started to develop a brand new forum from scratch using the very latest technology.

Apart from the technology itself, we listened to feedback over the last couple of years and as a result wanted to create a completely new and innovate forum that caters for all demands. Lots of people prefer categorised threads but you also have those who prefer to see all posts together irrespective of whether it's BFC or general chat for example. This forum now caters for both using 'channels'. You are only ever one click away from viewing all threads or a specific channel such as Blackpool FC.

We also needed to improve the mobility aspect and again we were restricted with the previous platform. Viewing from a mobile or tablet should be a pleasure, not a chore and now the forum will automatically adjust to your device using a new responsive design.

As the forum has been completely rebuilt, in the short term there has been loss in some functionality. We have tried to include the most important aspects at the start and gradually previous functionality will be brought back but with significant improvements.

Now we have the perfect platform to build on, we have some exciting and innovative ideas for the future. We need the valued contribution from Blackpool fans to make this happen.
